We are a small animal practice in Wiltshire, first established in 1972. We are passionate about animal care and our skilled team of veterinarians and vet nurses are dedicated to providing the highest quality care for your animals. Because we love animals and strive to provide excellent continuity of care, we are open six days a week and have access to 24-hour emergency care. For your added convenience, there’s free parking for clients at the practice.
Becky joined the Harris, Hill and Gibbons team in 2004 as a qualified veterinary nurse and became head nurse in 2005. She grew up and worked in Africa and the Middle East, before returning to the UK in 1999 at the height of popularity of the TV show 'Animal Hospital'. This prompted her to work with animals, and she hasn’t looked back. She loves the challenges of working in a veterinary practice combined with the joys of being around animals all day every day. At home Becky dotes on her favourite boys, Bernard and Moe, the feline arm of the family. She also has Risky, her rescue dog, who is a very familiar face with both staff and clients at all four branches. Risky and Becky are inseparable and are rarely seen apart.
Claire Drake RVN
Claire joined the Harris, Hill and Gibbons Veterinary Group team in 2006 as a trainee nurse before qualifying in 2009 and going on to become senior nurse in 2012. She has a Miniature Dachshund called Yorkie, and enjoys horse riding, reading, and watching films in her spare time. Claire’s favourite animals are dogs, cats and horses.
Rebecca Payne RVN
Rebecca originally joined Harris, Hill and Gibbons Vets in September 2006 as a Saturday assistant, which involved assisting the vets and nurses and helping on reception. She began her nurse training in 2012 and qualified as a veterinary nurse in December 2016. Rebecca has a keen interest in reptiles, in-patient care and orthopaedic surgery. In her spare time she enjoys going to the gym and socialising with friends. At home Rebecca has a rescue Staffordshire Bull Terrier, a cat, a Californian king snake and a bearded dragon called Eddie Lizzard.
Petra Howland RVN
Petra joined the Harris, Hill and Gibbons Vets team in 2012 as a veterinary nurse. She enjoys assisting with operations and looking after the in-patients, especially when it comes to elderly pets, as they will always have a special place in her heart. In her spare time Petra has two young children to look after as well as Rocky the family dog, two male cats called Jo Black and Jimmy Snaps, and a gang of four guinea pigs. Both Petra and Rocky love going to obedience and agility classes. Petra’s favourite animals are cats, guinea pigs and dogs as they are great company.
Larni Maidment RVN
Larni joined Harris, Hill and Gibbons Vets in October 2018. She became a qualified nurse in 2010 and has worked in the veterinary world for over a decade. Larni loves all aspects of her nursing duties but in particular likes caring for the hospitalised patients - she derives great pleasure from nursing an animal back to good health and seeing them return home looking well. Larni also enjoys meeting clients with their pets during nurse clinics and providing them with a great standard of service and care. When she isn't at work Larni is busy looking after her young child and trying to maintain a social life. At home she also has a rescue cat called Wentworth.
Shelly Marklew RVN
Shelly originally joined Harris, Hill and Gibbons Vets as a receptionist/animal nursing assistant before completing her nurse training and qualifying as a registered veterinary nurse in 2009. She left the practice in 2010 before returning in September 2017 to join the Warminster team. Shelly enjoys all aspects of nursing, especially in-patient care and post anaesthesia care. She also especially enjoys seeing our patients during their recovery period. Away from work Shelly likes to spend time with her family and friends. She has two cats, Molly and Ernie.
Lara Nicholls RVN
Lara joined Harris, Hill and Gibbons Vets as a locum nurse in 2012 and liked it so much she stayed on permanently at the Warminster branch. She qualified as a nurse at a busy hospital in Brighton in 2008, before working in various locations around the country and abroad as a locum. Now settled and happy in Somerset she spends much of her time cavorting in the countryside with her young son and helping animal welfare charities in their campaigns. In practice she loves working among Warminster’s small but wonderful team and always appreciates a good hairy cuddle.
Rebecca Parfitt RVN
Rebecca joined Harris, Hill and Gibbons Veterinary Group in 2014 as a work experience student. She is now a qualified veterinary nurse and works mostly at the Trowbridge branch. At home Bex has two cats called Pixie and Charlie. In her spare time she spends her days at the yard with her horse named Ginge, as well as enjoying spending time with her friends and family.
Emily Small RVN
Emily joined Harris, Hill and Gibbons Vets in December 2015 as an animal nursing assistant in the Bradford-on-Avon branch. She began training as a veterinary nurse in September 2016 with Bath College and qualified as a veterinary nurse in November 2018. At home Emily has a black and white cat called Cleo and a chocolate Cockapoo called William who she enjoys taking on long walks in the countryside. Since starting at Harris, Hill and Gibbons she has acquired two new kittens called Maze and Polly who needed homes.
Emilea Whatley Gibbs RVN
Emilea originally joined the Harris, Hill and Gibbons team in 2011 as an animal nursing assistant before qualifying as a veterinary nurse at the beginning of 2017. In 2018 she became our dedicated orthopaedic nurse, assisting with our ever expanding complex surgery cases. Emilea is based in our Trowbridge surgery but you will often see her working in some of the other branches from time to time. At home she has a German Shepherd, a Sprocker Spaniel, four cats, a horse and three tortoises. Emilea’s favourite animals are dogs.
Student Veterinary Nurse
Morwenna has had many years of experience within the veterinary profession and has worked as a receptionist, PCA and is now a student veterinary nurse. She joined the Harris, Hill and Gibbons Vets team from Dart Vale Vets, another CVS practice in Totnes. When not working or studying Morwenna likes to spend time with family and friends as well as helping her partner farm 500 beef cattle, 700 sheep and three pigs. She also loves spending time with her many animals: a horse called Poppy, a Dartmoor pony called Whisper, a Border Collie called Gyp and three Springer Spaniels, Coco, Teak and Widge. It’s clear to see that animals are her world!
Student Veterinary Nurse
Emily joined Harris, Hill and Gibbons Veterinary Group in July 2018 as a patient care assistant and is now in the process of undertaking her nurse training. She has always had a love for animals, which came from growing up with her black Lab called Murphy. At home she has a Springador called Coco and three chickens called Betty, Agatha and Geraldine. Emily is mainly based at the Trowbridge surgery but you will also see her working in some of the other branches from time to time. Her favourite animals are dogs.
Student Veterinary Nurse
Abbie joined the Harris, Hill & Gibbons team in March 2018 as a patient care assistant and started her nurse training in September 2018. Previously she worked as a supervisor in retail but her love and passion for animals has been from a young age, so she decided to change careers. At home she has a fully trained sheep dog called Jack. Abbie also has a German Shepherd puppy called Inka, two guinea pigs called Bubbles and Squeak, and a bearded dragon called Renesmee. Abbie enjoys helping her dad on their farm, especially when it is lambing season. Her life revolves around all of her animals.
Student Veterinary Nurse
Gabrielle joined the team in May 2017 as an animal nursing assistant and is currently completing her nurse training. She has always loved animals from a young age after her mum bought their first Dalmatian puppy, Tia. At home Gabrielle has two horses who she competes regularly, a giant tortoise and two German Shepherds. In her spare time she likes to go on weekends away with her husband and their dogs, Duke and Chief, to visit their hometown, Peterlee.
Patient Care Assistant
Georgia joined the practice in September 2018 as a patient care assistant, having previously studied animal management and worked in University of Liverpool’s small animal hospital as an animal care assistant. She is based in the Bradford-on-Avon practice and is excited to start her nurse training in September 2019. Georgia has always had a passion for animals and caring for them, her dream is to work in conservation as a veterinary nurse with elephants one day, which are one of her favourite animals (other than cats and dogs of course!). In her own time she enjoys exploring Snowdonia National Park, going for walks and being an all-round adrenaline junkie. Georgia also spends most of her time cuddling Gamble, her fox red lab, Dizzee Rascal, her miniature dachshund and Shere Kahn, her ginger and white cat.
Patient Care Assistant
Abby joined the team as a patient care assistant in September 2018. From a young age she always had a strong love and passion for animals and was always surrounded by family pets. It was Abby’s dream to work with animals and since joining Harris, Hill and Gibbons Vets she loves the fact that she looks forward to coming to work. Abby loves the variety of the job role and being able to give animals in need love and care. At home she has a Beagle called Miley, who her life revolves around. Away from work she likes to spend time with family and friends and going on countryside and seaside walks with Miley and her husband.
